The Highland Companies

The Highland Companies is the operating and investment vehicle for a group of private investors based in Canada and the United States. We are creating a diversified portfolio of sustainable local businesses in and beyond Melancthon Township in Dufferin County, Ontario. By building sustainable local businesses, we are creating local jobs and improving the life of the communities in which we operate. Today, we are the largest landowner, taxpayer, employer and private sector donor in the Township, providing about 20% of the property tax revenue and 24% of the jobs within Melancthon.

Our current business activities include farming. Our locally-based potato farming operation is the largest in Ontario.

We are proud to be a part of the life of Melancthon and surrounding areas. We’ve been investing in the community since 2006. As we pursue new business opportunities we will proceed in an environmentally, socially and economically responsible way.
